Gilhoc-sur-Ormèze is located about twelve kilometers west-northwest of Valence and about 15 kilometers southwest of Tournon-sur-Rhône . Gilhoc-sur-Ormèze is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Le Crestet in the north and north-west, Colombier-le-Jeune in the north and north-east, Saint-Sylvestre in the east, Champis in the east and south-east, Alboussière in the south-east, Saint-Barthélemy-Grozon in the south as well as Lamastre in the west.
