Culture and sights

Ardoix consists almost entirely of ancient houses made of old basalt stone . Above all, the center of the village is built up from them and consists of a church, an old churchyard, a vestibule and unusual walls and representations of the cross. Maintenance work on the old town center was carried out in 1995.

Further sights are the Château de Manoha with an ancient tower, the Château de Munas and the tower ruins of Oriol with a good view of the valley gorges above the Ay, and the Château de Pestin.

The church from the 19th century, the oratory of Notre-Dame-des-Cormes and the chapel Saint-Jean from the 18th century are special church buildings.

Hikers visit the gorges of the Ay, as well as the striking rock formations, which have names such as Abri de la Bergère, La Chaise du Diable and La Grotte aux Fées .
