Vanosc is a French municipality with 936 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Ardèche in the Region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement Tournon-sur-Rhône and the Canton Annonay-2 (until 2015: Canton Annonay-Sud ). The inhabitants are called Vanoscois .
geography
Vanosc is located about 26 kilometers south-southeast of Saint-Étienne in the Haut Vivarais and extends along the valleys of the Massif du Pilat , on the eastern side of the Massif Central . Vanosc is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Burdignes in the north, Annonay in the northeast, Villevocance in the east, Vocance and Monestier in the south and Riotord in the west.
