Saint-Christol is located in the Talaron valley in the Massif Central . Neighboring municipalities are Accons and Le Cheylard in the northwest, Beauvène , Saint-Barthélemy-le-Meil and Saint-Michel-d'Aurance in the northeast, Gluiras in the southeast, Saint-Genest-Lachamp and Dornas in the southwest and Saint-Martial in the west.

In addition to the main settlement, the municipality also includes the hamlets of Chirouze, Écharlives, La Fauritte, Gourdolives, Le Roure, Talaron on the river of the same name, La Théoule and Vergne.
