Location of the canton of Haut-Eyrieux in the Ardèche department

The Canton skin-Eyrieux is a French constituency in the department of Ardèche in the Region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It comprises 44 municipalities from the arrondissements Largentière , Privas and Tournon-sur-Rhône , and its bureau centralisateur is in Le Cheylard . As part of the nationwide reorganization of the French cantons, it was enlarged to more than four times its original area in spring 2015. In 2016 the canton name was changed from Le Cheylard to Haut-Eyrieux.

Shape of the canton before the 2015 reorganization

Until the nationwide reorganization of the French cantons in March 2015, the canton Le Cheylard included the 14 municipalities of Accons, Dornas, Jaunac, Le Chambon, Le Cheylard, Mariac, Nonières, Saint-Andéol-de-Fourchades, Saint-Barthélemy-le-Meil, Saint-Christol, Saint-Cierge-sous-le-Cheylard, Saint-Genest-Lachamp, Saint-Julien-Labrousse and Saint-Michel-d'Aurance. Its layout corresponded to an area of ​​173.26 km ² . Before 2015 it had a different INSEE code than it does today, namely 0706.
