The Canton Vals-les-Bains was 2015 a French canton in the Arrondissement of Largentière , in the department of Ardèche and the region Rhône-Alpes ; its main town (French: chef-lieu ) was Vals-les-Bains . By ordinance of the Prefect of February 22, 2007, the canton moved on March 1, 2007 from the Arrondissement Privas to the Arrondissement Largentière. The nationwide changes in the composition of the cantons resulted in its dissolution in March 2015.

The canton of Vals-les-Bains was 8,498 hectares (84.98 km²) and last (2012) had 11,532 inhabitants, which corresponded to a population density of 136 inhabitants per km². It was on average at 343  m , between 177  m in Saint-Privat and 1019  m in Saint-Michel-de-Boulogne .
