The Canton of Aubenas was 2015 a French canton in the Arrondissement of Largentière , in the department of Ardèche and the region Rhône-Alpes ; its main town (French: chef-lieu ) was Aubenas . By ordinance of the Prefect of February 22, 2007, the canton moved on March 1, 2007 from the Arrondissement Privas to the Arrondissement Largentière. The nationwide changes in the composition of the cantons finally resulted in its dissolution in March 2015.

The canton of Aubenas was 7,061 hectares (70.61 km²) and last (2012) had 20,297 inhabitants, which corresponds to a population density of 287 inhabitants per km². It was on average at 312  m , between 167  m in Saint-Étienne-de-Fontbellon and 864  m in Lentillères .
