Cantonal layout before the 2015 reorganization

Until the nationwide reorganization of the French cantons in March 2015, the canton Vallon-Pont-d'Arc included the 11 municipalities of Balazuc, Bessas, Labastide-de-Virac, Lagorce, Orgnac-l'Aven, Pradons, Ruoms, Salavas, Sampzon and Vagnas and Vallon-Pont-d'Arc. Its layout corresponded to an area of ​​248.80 km ² . Before 2015 it had a different INSEE code than it does today, namely 0726.
