Saint-Michel-d'Aurance is a French commune at 600 meters above sea level in the east of the Massif Central and the Ardèche, in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It belongs to the canton of Haut-Eyrieux and the Arrondissement of Tournon-sur-Rhône . The residents call themselves the Saint-Michelois or Saint-Micheloises. Neighboring municipalities are Jaunac in the northwest, Saint-Cierge-sous-le-Cheylard in the north, Belsentes with Saint-Julien-Labrousse in the northeast, Saint-Jean-Chambre in the east, Saint-Barthélemy-le-Meil in the southeast, Saint-Christol , Mariac and Accons in the southwest and Le Cheylard in the west.
