Bozas is a French municipality with 245 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in Ardèche, in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes .
geography
The municipality is located in the Haut-Vivarais and borders the neighboring municipalities of Saint-Félicien and Saint-Victor . The next larger city is Tournon-sur-Rhône 14 kilometers away. The rivers Doux and Daronne cross the municipality.
history
From the 12th century, the place was under the feudal rule of the Bosas family . They were later replaced by the Montmorin . In the 17th century, the area of today's municipality was expanded to become a margraviate , in favor of expanding the village. From the 13th to the 16th century there was a priory in the village. On January 18, 1985 the name of the parish was changed from Bosas , the name of the former feudal lords, to Bozas .

Culture and sights
Bozas is a village with a well-preserved and picturesque center. The community is known for the ancient remains of the castle and the fortress house of the Nassas family . The city wall, the Mur de Boze , from the 19th century is 1700 meters long, making it one of the largest in the region. The local church of Saint-Pierre is also from the 19th century. The highest point of the municipality is the Bois Madame at 808 meters, from which you have a beautiful view over the village.
