The Himlung Himal is a 7126 m high mountain in the Himalayas in Nepal .
The Himlung Himal is located in the Peri Himal in the Manang District of the Gandaki Administrative Zone , 1.5 km from the Tibetan border. The Manaslu is 28 km to the south-southeast.
Located on the western flank of the Pangrigletscher , on the eastern flank of Thochegletscher . The north and west sides of the Himlung Himal are drained to the Phu Khola , a tributary of the Marsyangdi . The east side, however, lies in the catchment area of the Budhigandaki .
The presumed first ascent of the Himlung Himal took place in 1983. A Japanese expedition reached the summit from the south via the east ridge. Another ascent, also by a Japanese group of climbers, over the northwest ridge took place in 1992. These suggested that this earlier ascent actually took place on Mount Nemjung to the south .
