Livron-sur-Drome is a French municipality with 9104 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Drôme in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Valence and the canton of Loriol-sur-Drôme .
geography
The small town is about 25 kilometers north of Montélimar and 20 kilometers south of Valence . Neighboring municipalities of Livron-sur-Drôme are Étoile-sur-Rhône in the north, Allex in the east, Loriol-sur-Drôme in the south and La Voulte-sur-Rhône in the west.
The municipality is bounded by the Drôme to the south and the Rhône to the west, where it meets the neighboring Ardèche department . The place itself is on the right bank of the Drôme, which flows into the Rhône about five kilometers further as a left tributary. The Véore also flows into the Rhône at the municipal boundary to the northern neighboring municipality of Étoile-sur- Rhône.
Transport links
Livron-sur-Drôme is very well developed through the traffic axes of the Rhône valley. The A7 motorway , the N7 national road and the rail link between Valence and Montélimar , where the nearest airports are located, all run in a north-south direction . The Drôme valley is served by the D104 departmental road. A railway line from the direction of Crest also runs here , which, after a junction at Livron-sur-Drôme, leads to the La Voulte railway bridge over the Rhône, where it is integrated into the railway network on the right bank of the Rhône.
