Grane (unofficially also: Grâne ) is a municipality with 1,913 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in France , in the Drôme department , in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region . The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement Die and the canton Crest (until 2015: canton Crest-Sud ).

geography

Grane is about 22 kilometers south of Valence . The Drôme River limits the municipality to the north. Grane is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Allex in the north, Eurre in the northeast, Chabrillan in the east, La Roche-sur-Grane in the south and southeast, Marsanne in the south, Mirmande in the west and southwest, Cliousclat in the west, Loriol-sur-Drôme in the west and north-west and Livron-sur-Drôme in the north-west.
