The Canton of Cusset-Sud was 2015 a French canton in the Arrondissement Vichy in Allier in the region Auvergne in France . The main town was Cusset .
history
The canton was founded on March 4, 1790 as part of the establishment of the departments as part of what was then District de Lapalisse . With the establishment of the arrondissements on February 17, 1800, the canton was redesigned as part of what was then the arrondissement of Lapalisse. On August 24, 1941, Vichy was assigned administration of the arrondissement instead of Lapalisse. The nationwide changes in the composition of the cantons resulted in the dissolution of the canton of Cusset-Sud in March 2015. His last representative in the conseil général des Départements was Gérard Charasse ( PRG ).
geography
The canton bordered in the north on the canton of Cusset-Nord , in the east on the canton Le Mayet-de-Montagne , in the south on the canton Châteldon in the Arrondissement Thiers in the department of Puy-de-Dôme , in the southwest on the canton Randan in the arrondissement Riom , also Puy-de-Dôme and in the west to the cantons Escurolles and Vichy-Sud .
