The canton of Cusset-Nord was a French canton in the arrondissement of Vichy in the Allier département in the Auvergne region in France until 2015 . The main town was Cusset .

history

The canton was founded on March 4, 1790 as part of the establishment of the departments as part of what was then District de Lapalisse . With the establishment of the arrondissements on February 17, 1800, the canton was redesigned as part of what was then the arrondissement of Lapalisse. On August 24, 1941, Vichy was assigned administration of the arrondissement instead of Lapalisse. The nationwide changes in the composition of the cantons resulted in the dissolution of the canton of Cusset-Nord in March 2015. His penultimate representative in the conseil général des Départements from 1994 to 2013 (also from 1979 to 1985 and 1986 to 1992) was René Bardet ( PCF ). He was followed by Magali Dubreuil ( EELV ).
