Saint-Rémy-sur-Durolle is a French commune in the department of Puy-de-Dôme in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Thiers and the canton of Thiers (until 2015: canton of Saint-Rémy-sur-Durolle ). The commune has 1,741 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) called Saint-Rémois .
Location and traffic
Saint-Rémy-sur-Durolle is located about 42 kilometers east-northeast of Clermont-Ferrand on the Durolle and on the edge of the Forez mountains . Saint-Rémy-sur-Durolle is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Victor-Montvianeix in the north, Palladuc in the east, La Monnerie-le-Montel in the south and southeast, Thiers in the south and west and Paslières in the west. The A89 autoroute runs along the southern edge .
Saint-Rémy-sur-Durolle is now part of the Livradois-Forez Regional Nature Park .
history
In 1908 Palladuc and in 1932 La Monnerie-le-Montel were detached from the municipality of Saint-Rémy-sur-Durolle.
