Dylan Borlée (born September 20, 1992 in Woluwe-Saint-Lambert ) is a Belgian athlete who specializes in the 400-meter run . His older siblings Olivia , Kevin and Jonathan are also successful sprinters. They are trained by their father Jacques Borlée .

Athletic career

Dylan Borlée gained his first international experience at the 2011 Junior European Championships in Tallinn . There he took sixth place with the Belgian 4 x 400 meter relay . At the U23 European Championships in 2013 in Tampere , he won the silver medal with the relay. A month later he was also at the World Championships in Moscow in the final of the relay competition. Together with his brothers Jonathan and Kevin and final runner Will Owoye , he reached fifth place. In the same year he won the silver medal at the Jeux de la Francophonie in Nice with the Walloon 4 x 400 meter relay .

In the 2014 season, Borlée remained without outstanding results. In the summer he had to take a longer compulsory break due to a back injury, so that the Belgian Athletics Association decided against nominating Borlée for the European Championships in Zurich .

At the European Indoor Championships in 2015 in Prague, Borlée finished second in the 400-meter run behind the Czech Pavel Maslák and thus won his first individual medal at an international championship. A day later he celebrated winning the 4 x 400 meter relay. The Belgian team around the three Borlée brothers and Julien Watrin set a new indoor European record with a time of 3: 02.87 minutes. At the European Championships in 2016 he won the title with the Belgian relay, in which his brothers Jonathan and Kevin also ran. Two years later, he and his brothers Jonathan and Kevin defended the title of the 4 x 400 meter relay at the 2018 European Championships .
