Ted Sampson

Ted Sampson (actually Edward John Sampson; born December 2, 1935 ) is a former British sprinter who specialized in the 400-meter run .

In 1958 he reached the semifinals at the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Cardiff over 440 yards and won silver with the English 4-by-440-yard relay. A month later he won the European Athletics Championships in Stockholm with the British team in the 4-by-400-meter relay .

He set his personal best over 440 yards of 46.64 s (46.90 s over 400 m) on July 22, 1958 in Cardiff .
