Christian Nicolau
Christian Nicolau (born February 3, 1947 in La Tronche ) is a former French athlete who specialized in the 400-meter run .
Career
Nicolau was French champion in the 400-meter run in 1967. At the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City, he competed over the same distance, but was eliminated in the first round. In addition, he was a member of the French 4-by-400-meter relay , which took eighth place. However, he was only used in qualifying and was replaced in the final by Jean-Pierre Boccardo .
He experienced the high point of his international career at the European Athletics Championships in Athens in 1969 . In the 4 x 400 meter relay, he celebrated winning the title in front of the teams from the Soviet Union and the Federal Republic of Germany together with Gilles Bertould , Jacques Carette and Jean-Claude Nallet .
