Marc Raquil (born April 2, 1977 in Créteil ) is a French sprinter .

2000 Marc Raquil was third at the European Indoor Championships in the 400-meter run , and with the French 4-by-400-meter relay Marc Raquil was fourth at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney .

At the 2003 World Championships in Paris / Saint-Denis , he won silver over 400 meters. It was there that the French season with the line-up Leslie Djhone, Naman Keïta , Stéphane Diagana and Marc Raquil came in second behind the US season. Because of the doping affair with the American Calvin Harrison , the French relay was subsequently declared world champion. Raquil won his second season gold at the 2005 European Indoor Championships with Richard Maunier, Remi Wallard and Brice Panel.

At the European Championships in Gothenburg in 2006 , he won gold from the Russian Wladislaw Frolow and his compatriot Leslie Djhone .

Most 400-meter runners design their run so that they start quickly and then try to keep the pace as long as possible on the home stretch. Marc Raquil is known for the fact that he starts out rather cautiously, but can still improve on the home stretch. This ability makes him one of the best final runners in the relay race, because if Raquil recognizes a weakness in another final runner, he almost always manages to catch up with them. He succeeded again impressively in the relay race of the European Championships in 2006. The Polish relay was initially in the lead, and Raquil won the gold medal for France on the home stretch.
