Bill Hartley

Bill Hartley (actually William John Hartley; born June 27, 1950 ) is a former British hurdler and sprinter .

In 1974 he was sixth over 400 m hurdles at the British Commonwealth Games in Christchurch and won silver in the 4 x 400 m relay with the English team . At the European Athletics Championships in Rome , he won the British 4 x 400 meter relay and reached the semifinals over 400 m hurdles.

In 1978 he retired over 400 m hurdles at the Commonwealth Games in Edmonton in the semifinals and at the EM in Prague in the preliminary run.

Over 400 m hurdles he was English champion in 1975 and British champion in 1978 and 1981.

His marriage to sprinter Donna Hartley ended in divorce.
