Yves Cros

Yves Cros (born October 5, 1923 in Aigues-Vives in the Hérault department , † March 22, 1995 ) was a French athlete and Olympic participant who was European champion with the 4 x 400 meter relay at the European Championships in 1946 .

In 1946, Cros improved the French national record in the 400-meter hurdles to 52.6 seconds. With this time he finished fourth at the European Championships in Oslo. The day after the hurdle final, Cros was in the finals with the relay team, with Bernard Santona , Yves Cros, Robert Chef d'Hôtel and Jacques Lunis , the French won the European championship in 3: 14.4 minutes, just ahead of the British. At the Olympic Games in London in 1948 , Cros only competed in the hurdles. In the semifinals he improved his personal best to 52.5 seconds and thus reached the final, where he was fifth in 53.3 seconds.

Yves Cros was French champion in the 400-meter hurdles four times: in 1944, 1946, 1947 and 1949. He had a competition weight of 67 kilograms with a height of 1.73 meters.
