Helmut Hamann (born August 31, 1912 in Berlin , † June 22, 1941 near Siedliszcze , Poland ) was a German athlete who won a bronze medal at the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin , with the German 4 x 400 meters -Staffel (with Friedrich von Stülpnagel , Harry Voigt and Rudolf Harbig ). Helmut Hamann started as a runner.

At the European Championships in Turin in 1934 he won the title in the 4 x 400 meter relay race (together with Hans Scheele , Harry Voigt and Adolf Metzner / Helmut Hamann as the starting runner).

He started for the SV Weißblau-Allianz Berlin . During his active time, Hamann was 1.75 m tall and weighed 62 kg. Helmut Hamann fell as a rifleman during the Second World War and is buried in the Włodawa Cemetery of Honor in Poland (individual grave 794).
