Michael Allen Oswald Bingham (born April 13, 1986 in Sylva , North Carolina ) is a British athlete who won the silver medal at the 2009 World Championships with the 4-by-400-meter relay .

Bingham was born in the United States and was US decathlon youth champion in 2005, but then switched to the sprint courses. The Wake Forest University student reached the semi-finals in the 400-meter run at the 2007 National Collegiate Athletic Association championships . Since Bingham's father is a British citizen and Michael Bingham therefore also has British citizenship, the British Association nominated him for his Olympic team. At the 2008 Olympic Games , Andrew Steele , Robert Tobin , Michael Bingham and Martyn Rooney ran in the season finale 2: 58.81 minutes and took third place.

A year later, Bingham started at the 2009 World Championships in the individual competition. In the semifinals, he increased his personal best to 44.74 seconds; in the final he finished seventh in 45.56 seconds. The British relay with Conrad Williams , Michael Bingham, Robert Tobin and Martyn Rooney took second place behind the US runners, in 3: 00.53 minutes the relay won silver ahead of the Australian relay.

In March 2013, he won the gold medal in the 4 x 400 meter relay at the 2013 European Indoor Championships in Gothenburg, Sweden .

At a height of 1.83 meters, his competition weight is 75 kilograms.
