Jiří Mužík (born September 1, 1976 in Plzeň ) is a Czech athlete who was particularly successful in the 400-meter hurdles and with the 4-by-400-meter relay .

Mužík ran his first 400-meter hurdle race on June 1, 1997. In mid-July 1997 he finished fourth over the hurdles at the U23 European Championships and won silver in the relay. On August 3, he ran in the semifinals of the 1997 World Championships with 48.27 s, the fastest time of his career, the next day he was eighth in the final with 49.51 s. A month later he took fourth place at the Universiade .

At the European Championships in Budapest in 1998 , Mužík reached the final twice, but was only seventh both over the hurdles and with the relay. After he was eliminated in the semi-finals at the 1999 World Championships , he started at the 2000 European Indoor Championships with the Czech relay. As a starting runner, he took a second from the German Ingo Schultz , in the end Mužík, Jan Podebrasky , Štěpán Tesařík and Karel Blaha won with 44 hundredths of a second ahead of the German relay team. In the outdoor season he reached the Olympic semifinals in Sydney.

2001 at the 2001 World Championships in Edmonton , he qualified for the finals and finished there in seventh and last place. At the European Indoor Championships in 2002 in Vienna, Mužík took fifth place in the 400-meter run . In the hurdles final of the European Open Air Championships in Munich , the Frenchman Stéphane Diagana was unbeatable in 47.58 s, followed by Mužík and defending champion Paweł Januszewski from Poland, in which Mužík finished second in 48.43 s was three hundredths of a second ahead. The Czech relay took fourth place in Munich.

After Munich, Mužík did not reach a grand final. At the World Championships in 2003 and the Olympic Games in 2004, he was eliminated in the semifinals. In 1997, 2001, 2002 and 2004 Mužík became Czech champion over 400 meter hurdles. He starts for Dukla Prague, is 1.81 m tall and his competition weight is 75 kg.
