Kacper Kozłowski (born December 7, 1986 in Olsztyn ) is a Polish athlete who specializes in the 400-meter run .

Athletic career

Kacper Kozłowski gained his first international experience in 2005 when he finished fourth at the Junior European Championships in Kaunas in 46.87 seconds and won the bronze medal in the Polish 4 x 400 meter relay in 3: 09.75 minutes. Two years later he won the bronze medal in the individual competition at the U23 European Championships in Debrecen in 45.86 seconds and also with the Polish relay in 3: 04.76 minutes. This gave him a starting place in the relay for the World Championships in Osaka , where he won the bronze medal behind the teams from the United States and the Bahamas together with Marek Plawgo , Daniel Dąbrowski and Marcin Marciniszyn with 3: 00.05 min in the final . In 2009 he took part in the Summer Universiade in Belgrade , where he finished fourth in the individual competition in 46.27 seconds and won the silver medal behind Australia in 3: 05.69 minutes in the relay. In addition, he again took part in the World Championships in Berlin with the relay and finished fifth there in 3: 02.23 min.

In 2010 he qualified for the first time for the European Championships in Barcelona and reached the final over 400 meters, in which he came eighth in 46.07 s. He was also fifth with the season in 3: 03.42 min. The following year he classified himself in fourth place over 400 meters at the World Military Games in Rio de Janeiro in 46.02 seconds and won the relay in 3: 04.55 minutes. Then he retired at the World Championships in Daegu with the relay with 3: 01.84 min in advance. In 2012 he reached the semi-finals at the European Championships in Helsinki in the individual competition and was eliminated there with 46.54 seconds, while he finished fourth with the relay in 3: 02.37 minutes. With the relay he qualified for the Olympic Games in London , but did not reach the final with 3: 02.86 min .

In 2013 he took part with the relay at the World Championships in Moscow , but also missed the finals there with 3: 01.73 min. At the 2014 World Indoor Athletics Championships in Sopot , he finished fourth in the relay in 3: 04.39 minutes and then retired from the World Relays in the Bahamas with 3: 05.16 minutes in advance. In August he won the silver medal behind the United Kingdom in 2: 59.85 minutes at the European Championships in Zurich together with Rafał Omelko , Łukasz Krawczuk and Jakub Krzewina after the Russian team had been disqualified for a doping violation. At the IAAF World Relays 2015 he won the B-final in 3: 03.23 min and reached the semi -finals at the military world games in Mungyeon, South Korea in October , where he was eliminated with 46.66 seconds while following the relay 3: 04.25 min came in fourth. The following year he took part with the relay at the European Championships in Amsterdam and won the silver medal behind the Belgian team in 3: 01.18 minutes, together with Krawczuk, Krzewina and Omelko. Kozłowski was a student at the University of Warmia-Masuria in Olsztyn and, after completing his studies, worked as a sports soldier in the Polish Navy .
