Military world games

The Military World Games (officially Military World Games ) are since 1995 every four years, modeled on the Olympic Games in the summer and since 2010 every four years in the winter by the World Military Sports Association held. The Summer Games always take place a year before the Summer Olympics, the Winter Games are held in the same year.

In 1994, the World Military Sports Federation decided for the first time to hold a major sports event in accordance with the rules of the IOC in addition to the world championships in various sports that have been held annually since the Second World War . On the 50th anniversary of the end of the Second World War, the first summer games were held in Rome.
