The VII. Summer Military World Games (officially 7th CISM Military World Games , also known as Wuhan 2019 ) found from 18 to 27 October 2019 in Wuhan in the province of Hubei in China instead. The Games were played by the World Military Sports Association, CISM , based on the model of the Summer Olympics . A total of 9,308 athletes from 110 nations took part in 329 competitions in 27 sports.
At the beginning of May 2020, reports from various participants revealed that the 2019 Military World Games, being held in the epicenter of the later COVID-19 pandemic 2019/20, the metropolis of Wuhan, might have been one of the first so-called corona “super spreaders” and were therefore ready for distribution of the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 have contributed to the whole world. For example, the Italian fencing Olympic champion Matteo Tagliariol announced that he and his colleagues had been sick from the start of their stay in China and had symptoms typical of COVID-19.
