Łukasz Krawczuk (born June 15, 1989 in Kłodzko ) is a Polish sprinter who specializes in the 400-meter run and is particularly successful with the Polish 4-by-400-meter relay.

Athletic career

Łukasz Krawczuk gained his first international experience in 2009 when he played in the run - up to the U23 European Championships in Kaunas with the Polish 4 x 400 meter relay and was therefore awarded the gold medal. In 2011 he took part in the relay at the European Indoor Championships in Paris , where he finished fourth in 3: 09.31 minutes. In the summer he took part in the U23 European Championships in Ostrava in the 400-meter run , but retired there with 47.26 s in the first round and won the silver medal behind the team in 3: 03.62 min the UK. The following year he took part with the relay at the World Indoor Championships in Istanbul , where he finished sixth in 3: 11.86 minutes. In 2013 he took part in the World Outdoor Championships in Moscow for the first time, where he missed the finals with the relay with 3: 01.73 min. In 2014 he was used in the relay at the World Indoor Championships in Sopot, Germany, and helped them to reach the finals. He then retired from the World Relays in the Bahamas with the season 3: 05.16 minutes in advance. In August he reached the semi-finals in the individual competition over 400 meters at the European Championships in Zurich and was eliminated there with 46.24 seconds. In addition, he won the relay together with Rafał Omelko , Kacper Kozłowski and Jakub Krzewina in 2: 59.85 minutes, the silver medal behind the United Kingdom after the Russian team was disqualified for a doping violation.

In 2015 he reached the final at the European Indoor Championships in Prague over 400 meters and was eliminated in fourth place in 46.31 s and won the 4 x 400 meter relay together with Rafał Omelko, Jakub Krzewina and Karol Zalewski in new indoor record of 3: 02.97 min the silver medal behind the team from Belgium. Then he was fourth in the distance relay at the World Relays in 9: 24.07 min and retired with the 4 x 400 meter relay with 3: 05.13 min in the lead. He then took part with the relay at the World Championships in Beijing , where he did not reach the final with 3: 00.72 min . He then reached the semi-finals over 400 meters at the military world games in Mungyeon, South Korea , in which he was eliminated with 47.33 s, while he reached fourth place in the relay in 3: 04.25 min. The following year he reached the semifinals at the European Championships in Amsterdam over 400 meters and was eliminated there with 45.86 seconds and won the 4 x 400 meter relay, consisting of Krawczuk, Kozłowski Krzewina and Omelko in 3 : 01.18 min the silver medal behind Belgium. Thus the season qualified for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , where she in 3: 00,50 minutes in the finals came in seventh. In 2018 he won the World Indoor Championships in Birmingham in a new world record time of 3: 01.77 minutes together with Omelko, Zalewski and Krzewina ahead of the favorite teams from the United States and Belgium. Over 400 meters he took part in the European Championships in Berlin in the summer , where he was eliminated in the semifinals with 45.78 seconds and fifth in the 4 x 400 meter relay in 3: 02.27 minutes. The following year he finished sixth over 400 meters at the World Military Games in Wuhan in 47.18 seconds and won the silver medal behind the team from Bahrain in 3: 06.36 minutes.

In 2015, Krawczuk became Polish champion in the 400-meter run outdoors and in 2016 indoors. In the 4 x 400 meter relay, he won between 2010 and 2016 and 2019 outdoors and in 2014 indoors.
