Danny McFarlane
Danny McFarlane (born June 14, 1972 in Saint Mary Parish ) is a retired Jamaican track and field athlete who won a medal in the four-by-400 meter relay at five consecutive world championships .
Life
By 2002, McFarlane was a 400-meter runner with a best time of 44.90 s from 1995, who rarely reached a grand finale. He finished eighth at the 2000 Olympic Games and third at the 2001 World Indoor Championships .
In 2003 McFarlane switched to the 400 meter hurdles and finished fourth at the World Championships . At the 2004 Olympic Games , he won the silver medal behind Félix Sánchez from the Dominican Republic in 48.11 s . In the semifinals he set his personal best with 48.00 s.
McFarlane finished fifth at the 2007 World Championships, fourth at the Olympic Games in Beijing and sixth the following year at the Berlin World Championships.
Danny McFarlane was 1.84 m tall and had a competition weight of 75 kg. In 2012 he ended his career.
