Martin Weppler

Martin Weppler (born February 21, 1958 in Schramberg , Rottweil district ) is a former German athlete and Olympian who was a successful 400-meter runner in the 1970s and 1980s . His greatest successes, including the 1978 European championship, came with the 4 x 400 meter relay .

Results with the 4 x 400 meter relay

At the World Championships in 1983 he also started in the 400-meter individual race, but retired in the intermediate run. In 1983 Weppler also won his only German open-air championship title when he won with the VfL Sindelfingen squadron with Benz , Fegert , Bürkle and Weppler in 3: 06.42 minutes.

Weppler initially belonged to VfB Stuttgart , from 1983 to VfL Sindelfingen . In his playing days he was 1.86 m tall and weighed 76 kg.

For winning the European Championship in 1978 with the 4 x 400 meter relay, he received the silver bay leaf.
