Gilles Bertould

Gilles Bertould (born May 16, 1949 in Plumaudan , Côtes-d'Armor ) is a former French athlete . With a height of 1.76 m, his competition weight was 63 kg.

At the Olympic Games in 1968 , Gilles Bertould retired in the 400-meter run in the quarter-finals. With the French 4 x 400 meter relay , he reached the finals, but then only finished eighth. The following year at the European Championships in 1969 he reached the semifinals. As the starting runner of the French relay, he was European champion in 3: 02.3 min.

Even at the European Championships in 1971 , he did not reach the finals over 400 meters. He was sixth with the season. 1972 Bertould stood in the 4 times 2 round relay at the European Indoor Championships in Grenoble and won bronze; however, there were only three seasons at the start. At the Olympic Games in 1972 Bertould was eliminated again in the quarterfinals and again he reached the final with the relay. This time he won the bronze medal with the French relay in 3: 00.65 minutes behind the relay from Kenya and Great Britain.
