Matthew Elias

Matthew "Matt" Elias (born April 25, 1979 in Cardiff ) is a British hurdler and sprinter .

At the Commonwealth Games in 1998 he was part of the Welsh team that won bronze in the 4 x 400 meter relay .

Four years later he won silver at the Commonwealth Games in Manchester both in the 400-meter hurdles and with the Welsh relay in the 4-by-400-meter relay. At the European Championships in Munich he was eliminated from the 400 meter hurdles in the preliminary run and won gold in the 4 x 400 meter relay with the British team.

At the 2004 Olympic Games , he was again part of the British team in the 4 x 400 meter relay and came with this in fifth place.

At the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne in 2006 he reached the semifinals over 400 meter hurdles.

Matthew Elias is 1.84 m tall and weighs 70 kg. He starts for the Cardiff ACC.
