Mark Hylton (athlete)

Mark Hylton ( Mark David Hylton ; born September 24, 1976 in Slough ) is a former British sprinter whose special course was the 400-meter run .

The U23 European champion from 1997 had his greatest individual successes in the hall, where he was English champion from 1995 to 1997 . In 2001 he was fifth at the World Indoor Athletics Championships in Lisbon .

In the 4-by-400-meter relay , he was part of the British team at the 1995 World Athletics Championships , which came in fourth. He received a silver medal each at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta and at the 1997 World Championships in Athens, even if he was only used in the preliminary stages of both tournaments.

In 1998 he won silver with the English relay at the Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur and silver with the British relay at the European Athletics Championships in Budapest . In 2002 a gold medal followed at the Commonwealth Games in Manchester , where he was part of the English quartet in the run-up.

Mark Hylton started for the Windsor Slough Eton & Hounslow Athletic Club.
