Aigues-Vives ( Occitan : Aigas Vivas ) is a French commune with 469 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Hérault department in the Occitania region (before 2016: Languedoc-Roussillon ). The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Béziers and the canton of Saint-Pons-de-Thomières (until 2015: canton of Saint-Chinian ). The inhabitants are called Aiguesvivois .

geography

Aigues-Vives is located about 32 kilometers west of Béziers in the southernmost foothills of the Massif Central . The Cesse runs through the municipality . Aigues-Vives is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Jean-de-Minervois in the north, Agel in the east, Bize-Minervois in the east and south-east, Mailhac in the south, Aigne in the south-west and La Caunette in the west and north-west.
