It belongs to the arrondissement of Béziers and the canton of Saint-Pons-de-Thomières (until 2015: canton of Olargues ). The inhabitants are called Martinonois .

Saint-Martin-de-l'Arçon is located about 31 kilometers north-north-west of Béziers on the Orb , which borders the municipality in the south. Saint-Martin-de-l'Arçon is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Rosis in the north, Colombières-sur-Orb in the east and Mons in the south and west.
