Vélieux ( Occitan : Velius ) is a French commune with 86 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Hérault department in the Occitanie region . Verreries-de-Moussans belongs to the Arrondissement of Béziers and the canton of Saint-Pons-de-Thomières . The inhabitants are called Vélois .

geography

Vélieux is located in the southernmost foothills of the Massif Central , between the Jaur valley and the lowlands sloping down to the Mediterranean , north of Narbonne , in the valley of the Thoré river . The municipality is part of the Haut-Languedoc Regional Nature Park . Verreries-de-Moussans is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Rieussec in the north, Saint-Jean-de-Minervois in the east and northeast, La Caunette in the east and southeast, Minerve in the south and Boisset in the west.
