Vendres is a French commune with 2702 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Hérault department in the Occitanie region . It belongs to the arrondissement of Béziers and the canton of Béziers-1 .

Vendres is the southernmost commune of the Hérault department. It is located about eight kilometers south of Béziers . Wine is grown to the north of the village and the Étang de Vendres extends to the south. The coastal strip, which belongs to the municipality and which consists of up to four meters high dunes, is largely free from settlement, apart from camping sites.
