Between the Mediterranean and the low mountain range , Saint-Gervais-sur-Mare is located in the mountain range of the Monts de l'Espinouse . The place is in the valley of the river Mare . The municipality is part of the Haut-Languedoc Regional Nature Park .
The community is located on Via Tolosana , one of the four historic " Way of the Pilgrims of St. James in France ".
