Hérépian is a southern French municipality with 1518 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Hérault department in the Occitanie region at the foot of the Cevennes . Located between the Mediterranean and the low mountain range, Hérépian is in the center of the Occitania region . The place lies on the river Orb , at the confluence of its right tributary Mare . The municipality is part of the Haut-Languedoc Regional Nature Park .

Attractions

  • The Musée de la Cloche et de la Sonnaille (Bells and Peals Museum) in the former station building is reminiscent of what was once the oldest bell foundry in France, the Fonderie de Cloche Granier in Hérépian, founded around 1600 and closed in 2011.
