Montels ( Occitan : Montelhs ) is a French commune with 252 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Hérault department in the Occitanie region . It belongs to the arrondissement of Béziers and the canton of Saint-Pons-de-Thomières (until 2015: canton of Capestang ). The inhabitants are called Montélois .

geography

Montels is about 16 kilometers west-southwest of Béziers . Montels is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Capestang in the north and east, Cuxac-d'Aude in the south and Ouveillan in the west.
