Castanet-le-Haut is located on the edge of the Hérault department in the Haut-Languedoc Regional Nature Park in the mountains of the Monts de l'Espinouse directly on the Tarn and Aveyron departments , 73 kilometers east of Montpellier and 41 kilometers northwest of Béziers , the seat of the sub-prefecture of the eponymous arrondissements .
