wine growing

There is a Mediterranean microclimate in Roquebrun - oranges, lemons, bay leaves and mimosas grow here. The slate soils store liquid and heat equally, which is beneficial for viticulture. The wine-growing is the main source of income. The main grape varieties are Syrah , Grenache , Mourvèdre , Carignan and blanc Grenache . The winemakers undertake to handpick all grapes. The growing area belongs to the Saint Chinian ( AOC ) appellation .

In addition, the Roches Noires red wine is used to make a brandy (40%) that ages in oak barrels for nine years: the Roche Brune XO Eau de vie du Languedoc .
