Aigné is a French commune with 1,659 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Sarthe in the region Pays de la Loire ; it belongs to the Arrondissement of Le Mans and the canton of Le Mans-2 (until 2015: canton of Le Mans-Nord-Ouest ). The inhabitants are called Aignéens .
geography
Aigné is about eight kilometers northwest of Le Mans . Aigné is surrounded by the neighboring communities of La Milesse in the north and east, Trangé in the south, Chaufour-Notre-Dame in the south and south-west, Degré in the west and south-west and Lavardin in the west and north-west.
The A81 autoroute runs along the southern edge of the municipality .
