Tourbes is a commune in the Hérault department in the Occitanie region of France . It has 1,621 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017), who are called "Tourbains" . Tourbes belongs to the arrondissement of Béziers and the canton of Pézenas .
geography
Tourbes is about 20 kilometers northeast of Béziers . Tourbes is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Alignan-du-Vent in the north and north-west, Pézenas in the north and east, Nézignan-l'Évêque in the south-east, Valros in the south and Servian in the west and south-west.
Autoroute A75 and Route nationale 9 run through the southeast of the municipality .
