Canal du Midi at Poilhes

Poilhes ( Occitan : Pòlhas ) is a French commune with 559 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Hérault department in the Occitanie region . It belongs to the arrondissement of Béziers and the canton of Saint-Pons-de-Thomières (until 2015: canton of Capestang ). The inhabitants are called Poilhais .

geography

Poilhes is about twelve kilometers southwest of Béziers on the Canal du Midi . Poilhes is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Capestang in the north and west, Montady in the east and northeast and Nissan-lez-Enserune in the south and southeast.
