The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Béziers and the canton of Saint-Pons-de-Thomières (until 2015: canton of Saint-Chinian ). The inhabitants are called Babeaunais and Bouldounais .

Babeau-Bouldoux is located about 26 kilometers west-northwest of Béziers in the southernmost foothills of the Massif Central . Babeau-Bouldoux is surrounded by the neighboring communities Ferrières-Poussarou in the north, Saint-Chinian in the south and east, Assignan in the south and Pardailhan in the west.
