Cruzy ( Occitan : Crusi ) is a French commune with 988 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Hérault department in the Occitanie region . The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Béziers and the canton of Saint-Pons-de-Thomières (until 2015: canton of Saint-Chinian ). The inhabitants are called Cruzyates .

geography

Cruzy is located about 22 kilometers west of Béziers in the southernmost foothills of the Massif Central . The Canal du Midi runs through the south of the municipality . Cruzy is surrounded by the neighboring communities Villespassans in the north, Quarante in the east, Ouveillan in the south, Argeliers in the south and south-west, Montouliers in the west and south-west and Bize-Minervois in the west.
