geography

Courniou is located about 43 kilometers west-northwest of Béziers in the southernmost foothills of the Massif Central in the Haut-Languedoc Regional Nature Park . Courniou is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Le Soulié in the north, Saint-Pons-de-Thomières in the east, Verreries-de-Moussans in the south, Labastide-Rouairoux in the west and Anglès in the north-west.
