La Livinière ( Occitan : La Livinièra ) is a place and a municipality in the south of France with 532 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Hérault department in the Occitanie region . The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Béziers and the canton of Saint-Pons-de-Thomières (until 2015: canton of Olonzac ). The inhabitants are called Liviniérois .

location

La Livinière is located in the Minervois landscape and the Minervois-La Livinière wine-growing region of the same name , about 30 kilometers west-northwest of Narbonne . The Ognon flows through the municipality . La Livinière is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Ferrals-les-Montagnes in the north, Boisset in the northeast, Minerve in the east and northeast, Siran in the east, Azille in the south and southeast, Rieux-Minervois in the southwest, Peyriac-Minervois in the west and southwest, Félines -Minervois to the west and Cassagnoles to the northwest.

The former National Route 610 runs through the municipality .
